New Zealand businesses are encouraged to invest in Vietnam through specific programs and projects in areas such as the green economy, science and technology, innovation, electric vehicles, and semiconductor manufacturing.
Over time, two-way trade has grown exponentially, and New Zealand exporters now have better market access thanks to the CPTPP and other trade agreements.
The visit will strengthen strategic partnerships between the two countries and promote multi-faceted cooperation, such as politics-diplomacy, defense-security, economy, investment, labor, education, technology, climate change, and digital transformation.
As Vietnam is projected to be one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia in the next few years, trade with New Zealand is estimated to increase further, mostly after the two countries elevated the relations to Strategic Partnership in 2020.
