Thousands of drones to light up Hanoi on Lunar New Year’s Eve

The drone performance is one of the largest in Southeast Asia and is expected to provide the public with an unprecedented dazzling display during Lunar New Year's Eve.

The Hanoi Art Light Festival - Brilliant Thang Long themed "One Day of the Capital - A Thousand Years of History" will be held on the evening of February 9 (Lunar New Year Eve) at the Van Cao T-junction in West Lake, Hanoi.

As many as 2,024 drones will be used for the show, which set a Southeast Asian record with 2,024 unmanned aerial vehicles, according to Truong Viet Dung, Head of the Hanoi People's Committee Office.

This artistic showcase is scheduled to take place before the fireworks display, from approximately 11 p.m. to 11:30 pm, and will be broadcast live.

"This is a new and significant highlight for Hanoi, creating a festive atmosphere to celebrate the city's socio-economic achievements in 2023 and welcome the new year with renewed energy, embodying the capital's cultural industry," Dung said.

The artistic drone light show will be performed in stunning shapes, patterns and colors in the sky by LED lights.

Drone light show is becoming a new trend of festivals in the 4.0 industry.
The show consists of 11 parts that tell stories about Hanoi through the combination of light and music. This interaction, coupled with the subsequent brilliant fireworks display at West Lake, will completely awaken the viewers' emotions, so that New Year's Eve will become the capital's central cultural event in 2024.
