Vietnam to introduce electronic vehicle registration certificates

The Vietnam Register announced on January 2 its plan to introduce electronic registration certificates integrated with vehicle registration data and VNeID accounts. Vehicles with unclear origins, violations, or inconsistent registration data will be ineligible for certification. The policy will simplify procedures, reduce costs, and improve management capacity.

Hanoi launches electronic authentication service

Hanoi on January 2 implemented electronic authentication for copies from originals on the administrative system. Local authorities have been tasked with processing applications and promoting the service while the Department of Justice will manage training, provide guidance, and address issues to ensure efficient online public service delivery.

Ho Chi Minh City leads national tourism performance in 2024

The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism has reported that Ho Chi Minh City welcomed 44.1 million visitors, an increase of 14.3% from the previous year. Hanoi ranked second with 28 million visitors, followed by the northern province of Quang Ninh, which is home to World Heritage Site – Ha Long Bay, with 19 million visitors.

US firm expands investment in Vietnam's high-tech manufacturing sector

Jabil Vietnam has increased its investment in high-tech electronics manufacturing from $300 million to $450 million. Operating since 2007, Jabil has contributed over VND4.3 trillion to Vietnam's national budget, created over 9,000 jobs, and strengthened local technology and talent. The expansion is in line with Vietnam's 2030 Innovation Strategy.

Vietnam Airlines combines safety guidelines with cultural heritage

Vietnam Airlines has unveiled its new safety video "The Blooming Flight" inspired by Vietnam's traditional craft villages. The video combines aviation safety guidelines with cinematic depictions of crafts such as embroidery and bamboo weaving. It highlights cultural heritage and promotes Vietnam's values to millions of domestic and international passengers.

Ho Chi Minh City celebrates culture and creativity with diverse workshops

The cultural and creative week "Drums Rise - Flags Wave" is underway until January 5 on Ho Chi Minh City's Book Street. The event features cultural discussions, traditional craft workshops, and interactive performances celebrating Vietnam's heritage. Highlights include sessions on cultural adaptation in the creative industries, traditional Tet activities, and workshops on armor modeling, Vietnamese desserts, and comic book creation.

Ethnic groups showcase Tet traditions and cultural unity in Hanoi

The "Spring in the Villages", which will run until the end of January, showcases Tet customs, traditional crafts, and cultural performances at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi. With 100 participants from 16 ethnic groups, highlights include folk songs, rituals such as the Dzao thanksgiving ceremony, and the symbolic Tet pole-raising tradition. Interactive games, workshops, and ethnic cuisine enrich this vibrant cultural celebration.
