Vietnam responds to possibility of joint military drills with Russia

Sputnik News previously reported both countries are planning to hold joint military drills to practice combat training in difficult tactical situations.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang today [April 21] responded to questions on the possibility of a joint military drill with Russia in the coming time.

According to Hang, Vietnam considers defense cooperation activities with countries, including exchanges and joint exercises, to bolster friendship, solidarity, trust, and mutual understandings for peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

Sputnik News previously reported both countries are planning to hold joint military drills to practice combat training in difficult tactical situations.

“A conference on planning joint Russian-Vietnamese military exercises was organized for the first time at the headquarters of the Eastern Military District. The meeting of the delegation took place via video conference,” Sputnik quoted a statement from the Russian Eastern Military District as saying.

The exercise aims to improve the practical skills of commanders and staff in organizing combat training and managing units in a difficult tactical situation, as well as developing unconventional solutions when performing tasks, it added.
