Wild peach blossoms welcome Spring in Mu Cang Chai

Once a year, the entire northwestern mountains and forests are turned pink by a beautiful flower - the Wild Peach Flower, also known as To Day Flower in the language of the H'Mong ethnic minority.

Every year in January, the mountains of Mu Cang Chai District, in the northern mountain province of Yen Bai, are turned a bright pink by the wild peach blossoms. The breathtaking blossoms on the high peaks give the entire area a fairy-tale appearance.

The woody plant grows wild in various communes of La Pan Tan, Lao Chai, Nam Khat, and Pung Luong in Mu Cang Chai District, attracting thousands of visitors in Spring.

This special tree can only be found at an altitude of more than 1,000 meters above sea level.
The tiny flowers have such a strong vitality that they only bloom during the cold winter.
To Day flower season starts in mid-December and ends in January every year.
