Glimpse of contemporary Italian cinema at Italian Film Festival 2023 in Hanoi

The festival aims to provide Vietnamese audiences with a privileged insight into contemporary Italian cinema.

Audiences in Hanoi will be able to enjoy free of charge six unique films that have never been screened in Vietnam before.

The movies will be screened at the 2023 Italian Film Festival organized by the Asian Film Festival in Rome from November 27 to December 2 at the National Cinema Center in Hanoi.

The festival aims to provide Vietnamese audiences with a privileged insight into contemporary Italian cinema. Through six outstanding films ranging from drama to comedy, many of which have won awards at prestigious festivals, the 2023 Italian Film Festival will depict modern Italian society facing new challenges while trying to connect with and preserve its ancient traditional heritage.

Among the films to be screened at the festival are The Hummingbird, Diabolik, September, Diabolik Ginko Attacks, Leonora, and The Return of Casanova.

According to Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Della Seta, films are the fastest and most effective way to introduce Vietnamese people to contemporary Italy. "I hope the Vietnamese audience will have a good time with family and friends, relax and enjoy these interesting movies," he said.
