Hanoi watercolor exhibition showcases works of 465 int'l artists

The exhibition, the largest of its kind in Vietnam to be joined by 465 artists from around the world, is divided into two parts and held at two locations in Hanoi.

An international watercolor painting exhibition titled "Colors of Cultures" will be held in Hanoi, featuring works by 465 artists from 60 countries and territories.

Among them, more than 200 selected watercolors will be officially exhibited at the Temple of Literature from March 16 to 26. The rest will be on display at the same time at Nhau Studio, 364 Doi Can Street, Hanoi.

The exhibition will show art lovers unique collections of watercolor paintings from different countries. Unique cultural features are clearly expressed through familiar themes of nature, country, and people and the soft but firm, delicate and flexible drawings of artists using watercolor materials.

According to painter Thu Huong Coco, representative of VietnamInAcquarello, the main organizer, VietnamInAcquarello is a branch of an international non-profit organization. Its mission is to create opportunities for local artists to interact and exchange techniques with other artists in the region and around the world and to meet artists, collectors, students, individuals and organizations interested in the art of watercolor.

At this event, VietnamInAcquarello welcomes more than 60 artists from 22 countries, such as Poland, Japan, Korea, Australia, England, Canada, and France.

Le Xuan Kieu, Director of Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities, said: "The watercolor exhibition is a meaningful art and culture event that would promote the spiritual and cultural values of the community and contribute to gradually transforming the Temple of Literature into a creative space. We always focus on diversifying cultural activities to better serve locals and international visitors."

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Hanoi, the main honorary patron of this significant event, hopes it will become a vibrant platform for cultural exchange, creativity, and mutual appreciation.

The embassy's support and patronage is a way of respecting the legacy of Polish-Vietnamese relations, which were built on people-to-people contacts from the very beginning. The event is thus a truly harmonious blend of artistic expressions reflecting the rich diversity of global cultures under the theme "Colors of Cultures", where art can create a visual dialogue that transcends language barriers.

As part of the exhibition, 16 international artists will also demonstrate at the Temple of Literature on the morning of March 16.

This is a typical activity of international watercolor exhibitions. Through their performance, art lovers can directly follow the process of how a watercolor painting is created, as well as partly see the influence of cultures on the choice of theme and style of the artists.

The Hanoi-Ninh Binh Painting Tour from March 18 to 20 is also a major activity of the event. Vietnamese relics and people will be depicted in the paintings of the participating artists and contribute to promoting the images, culture, and tourism of Vietnam to international friends.

Some paintings to be displayed:

Alpe Cermis by Michał Suffczyński, Poland.
Vietnamese Girl by Avramova Diana, Belgium.
The Mediterranean Sea by Crehalet Christine, France.
Sunflower Love by Ze Ze Lai, Hongkong.
The Story of Life by Minh Dam, a Vietnamese-Polish artist.
