Vietnam's chairmanship of ASEAN Spouses Circle praised at Washington event

By organizing a series of vibrant events that showcased the cultures of ASEAN member countries to the US public, Vietnam effectively fulfilled its responsibilities.

The ASEAN Spouses Circle (ASC) and its partners praised Vietnam's successful chairmanship at a meeting in Washington, D.C., on December 9.

This meeting focused on reviewing the year's activities led by the ASC 2024 Chair - the Vietnamese Spouses Association in Washington - and highlighted Vietnam's significant contributions.

Delegates commended Vietnam for effectively fulfilling its responsibilities by organizing a series of vibrant events that showcased the cultures of ASEAN member states to the US public and the international community in the DMV area (Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia).

Notable highlights included the ASEAN Cultural Day and the ASEAN & Friends Bazaar, both of which celebrated the rich cultural heritage of the ASEAN community.

Tran Thi Bich Van, President of ASC 2024, emphasized that the monthly activities featuring different ASEAN member countries aim to showcase their unique cultures while building an understanding of American history and culture. This initiative strengthens unity among ASC members and deepens cultural ties with local communities.

With the unanimous support of all ASC members, Bich Van passed the ASC presidency for 2025 to Soo Fen Teng, wife of Singapore's ambassador to the United States.

The annual meeting also featured activities that promoted Vietnam's unique culture, arts, and cuisine and attracted the participation of ASC members.
