100 companies join the Vietnam National Pavilion on Alibaba.com

The selected companies will receive in-depth technical support, consulting, training and assistance in building their business profiles on the Alibaba.com e-commerce platform to pursue cross-border e-commerce.

About 100 companies will join the Vietnam National Pavilion on the Alibaba.com e-commerce platform, according to a report released by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade) and Alibaba.com, the world's leading B2B e-commerce platform for businesses.

The selection process for the 100 companies took place from late November 2023 to mid-January 2024. Qualified Vietnamese businesses had to meet 14 criteria, including product quality and reputation, ability to use e-commerce tools, export potential, and diversity of industries and geographic areas.

Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, believed that through platforms such as Alibaba.com, Vietnamese businesses would be given the opportunity to step into the digital era of trade and business. This would lay the foundation for sustainable economic development and international recognition.

The Vietnam National Pavilion is a special showcase for typical Vietnamese products and a strategic platform for outstanding enterprises to connect with global customers and maximize their international market potential," said Mike Zhang, Country Director of Alibaba.com Vietnam.

"We appreciate the achievements of these companies and are pleased to help them reach their maximum potential in the global marketplace," he added.

Mike Zhang is very optimistic about the prospects of the Vietnamese market. This is why Alibaba will continue to increase its investment in Vietnam, he said. Specifically, Alibaba will open two new representative offices in the southern provinces of Dong Nai and Long An by the end of March 2024, and plans to open more offices to localize its services.

As one of the companies participating in the program, To Nghiep Sieu, deputy director of Hanh Sanh Production Trading Service Co, Ltd, a traditional Vietnamese electric fan brand, said the company's brand has experienced strong growth since joining Alibaba.com in 2019, earning US$150,000 in revenue from the international market in its first year of selling on the platform.

With the support of Alibaba.com, the company has easily penetrated seven countries, expanded its commercial activities and further strengthened its position, he pointed out.
