6 urgent tasks in industrial revolution 4.0
Improving IT application, creative start-ups, digital human resources, gradually developing smart city, raising awareness on digital revolution are urgent tasks in industrial revolution 4.0.
These are requests of the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc before the Vietnam ICT Summit 2017 with theme “Vietnam: Digital Transformation in Industry 4.0” taking place on September 6 in Hanoi.
As such, firstly, improving IT and high technology application in every aspects of socio-economic condition. Improve IT application in legal and administrative procedure reform, as well as competitive capabilities; quickly improve IT application in developing e-government, increase transparency, responsibility in explaining, creating convenience for citizens in working with government’s agencies and accessing public services; building a government of facilitation and integrity with the purpose of serving citizens and enterprises.
Secondly, pushing forward with creative transformation in every aspects and sectors of the socio-economics; increase capabilities in receiving and take over modern technologies, especially technologies under the trend of digital revolution and industrial revolution 4.0. Developing Vietnam IT industry into the the center of software development, mobile application and information security in the world.
Thirdly, encouraging creative start-ups, in turn turning Vietnam into a start-up country, which is the fastest way to develop business community, especially hi-tech companies and creating breakthroughs in digital economy. Removing barriers, encouraging IT application, pushing forward with private sectors, so that private enterprises can become the driving force of the economy.
Fourthly, developing digital human resources, in turn takes advantage of the golden population into the advantage of digital capabilities in global integration and labor forces allocation. Focusing on training human resources in technology, both in terms of quantity and quality in accordance with international standard, with a view to catch up with technological trends. Vietnam is expected to become one center providing high quality human resources for global digital economy.
Fifthly, gradually building and developing smart cities, starting with major cities like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Can Tho, drastically dealing with social issues on transport, healthcare, food safety, public order, environment. With this being said, it is aimed to improve living environment for citizens.
Sixthly, all level of administrative agencies, provinces/cities, enterprises and society to raise awareness in digital revolution, at the same time applying IT to improve capabilities, and efficiency in their operation. This must be seen as priority and the highest responsibility of leaders in organizations and agencies, from central to local government.
A quick survey conducted by Vietnam Software Association (VINASA) to 250 enterprises and organizations taking part in the event has shown positive result: 35.2% organizations has prepared and is willing to join the industrial revolution 4.0, 58.7% is looking for information but has a certain level of preparedness, and the remaining of 6.1% do not have any information with regard to the industrial revolution 4.0
The survey also showed advantages, efficient solutions and sectors which Vietnam can approach and be successful in industrial revolution 4.0. As such, enterprises and organizations think human resources (77.7%), awareness & determination of the government (70.4%), and IT & telecom infrastructure (59.1%) are big advantages of Vietnam in this revolution. In order to realize these advantages, Vietnam will need to implement 3 important solutions such as: training human resources (81.8%), push forward with transformation toward digital economy (70%), creative start-ups (53%). Enterprises and organizations also suggested, that Vietnam should focus on some specific sectors, which Vietnam has advantage of in the industrial revolution 4.0: IT (89.9%), tourism (45.7%), agriculture (44.9%), finance & banking (47%) and logistics (28.3%).
