Addressing the reception, HKTDC Chairman highly appreciated the development of Hanoi in recent years, expressing his hope that Hanoi and Hong Kong will continue to promote cooperation in a more effective and practical way in the time to come. He also proposed Hanoi to create favorable conditions for Hong Kong businesses to explore the market and seek partners in the future.

For his part, Chairman Chung highly appreciated the flourishing cooperation between Hanoi and Hong Kong in recent time.  Nonetheless, the potential for bilateral cooperation remains huge. He said that, in 2016-2020 period, Hanoi will focus on three breakthrough points, including (i) uniformly developing and step-by-step modernising the urban and rural infrastructure, (ii) continuing to step up the administrative reform and improve the investment environment and (iii) enhancing the quality of human resource.

He voiced his hope that Hong Kong enterprises will step up their investment in Hanoi in eight metro lines,  building satellite urban areas, dykes, waste treatment, environment monitoring stations, wastewater treatment infrastructure in traditional craft villages, etc.

Hanoi will create favorable conditions for enterprises in foreign countries, including China, to explore the market and seek cooperation partners. At the meeting, he also answered some questions of the Hong Kong business on investment procedures in Hanoi.
