Holding a Vietnam’s flag-raising ceremony at the Int’l Hydrographic Organisation

The International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) organised a ceremony to raise Vietnam’s flag in Monaco on September 2, which coincided with Vietnam’s 70th National Day, marking the country’s official admission to the IHO as the 84th member.

Participating the event was Rear Admiral Pham Xuan Diep – Deputy Commander and Chief of the Staff of the Vietnam’s Navy Service, representatives of the Vietnamese ministries of National Defence and Foreign Affairs, IHO President Robert Ward, and leaders of Monaco’s hydrographic agency.

Vietnam’s membership in the IHO marks a new stage in the development of the country’s navy force and the hydrographic sector. 
Vietnam commits to fully adhere to the Convention on the IHO and try every effort to actively and responsibly contribute to ensuring maritime security and safety in the region and the world. 
The country is also willing to cooperate with IHO member nations in the spirit of being a friend, trustful partner and responsible member of the international community.
