Photo exhibition "Doai Land's White Clouds" shows beauty of Duong Lam village

The photo exhibition captures the charm of the historic village on the outskirts of Hanoi.

A photo exhibition entitled Duong Lam Ancient Village - 'Doai Land's White Clouds' by photographer Pham Ngoc Diep, also known as Nina May, was held at Mong Phu Village Gate, Son Tay District, Hanoi City.

Duong Lam Ancient Village is a fossilized remnant of the past in the center of Doai land. Upon entering the village, visitors will be enchanted by the red brick streets and yellowish-brown laterite alleys. Not surprisingly, Duong Lam is a favorite location for professional and amateur photographers.

The exhibition features 25 photographs of the ancient village of Duong Lam, taken by Nina May since 2019. With the theme of "Doai Land's White Clouds", they depict 25 stories of life in Duong Lam, filled with love and emotion. As both an artist and a villager, Nina May has enough time to gain perspective on the values of the ancient village culture.

The reason why Nina chose to settle down in Son Tay Town is the people and scenery here remind her of her hometown. She decided to live in the village like a local and began to preserve its cultural values and life in an increasingly changing society.

Nina shared that in addition to taking pictures of everyday life, she loves to recreate scenes and images that have fallen into oblivion over time. Compositional techniques are sometimes needed, but she always tries to show the life and people of Duong Lam as they are.

Below are some photos displayed at the exhibition:
