On behalf of the Vietnamese government, PM Phuc conveyed his sympathy to Japanese people affected by recent floods.

It is clear that the two countries have deep strategic partnerships, which are strongly developing, and actively promote the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), Phuc said.

The PM believes that this visit will open a new chapter for trade and investment relations between the two countries.

The PM also highly valued JETRO's activities in Vietnam which have contributed positively to promoting bilateral investment and trade cooperation.

Phuc emphasized that improving the investment environment is one of the key tasks of Vietnamese government.

International organizations have recently appreciated Vietnam’s efforts to better the business environment, reflected in indicators continuously gaining higher levels.

The PM said that in the surveys, most Japanese companies are keen on expanding their investment and business in Vietnam, positively assessing Vietnam’s investment climate.

Vietnamese people are very impressed by the Japanese personality, especially the spirit of hard work, strict discipline and their intelligence, Phuc added.

The PM hopes that Japan will rise to the top of FDI and tourism investment in Vietnam, Japanese enterprises will invest in Vietnam in the fields of infrastructure development, clean energy, processing industry, electronics, manufacturing, supporting industries, high-tech agriculture, logistics, aviation, hotel and so on.

Vietnamese government always tries its best to create favorable conditions for Japanese enterprises to successfully invest in Vietnam, affirmed PM Phuc.

For his part, Hiroyuki Ishige said that Japanese PM Shinzo Abe attaches importance to boosting cooperation with Vietnam and highly values the investment promotion conference in Vietnam held by JETRO on PM Phuc's official visit to Japan in June 2017.

Agreements on investment at the conference are being actively implemented in Vietnam, including many important projects on energy, trade, industrial production, etc. With these efforts, Japan’s investment in Vietnam is strongly developing, he added.

JETRO is actively supporting Japanese businesses to invest more in Vietnam. The important issue is that enterprises need to recruit well-qualified workers, stressed Hiroyuki Ishige.

In order to attract Vietnam’s well-qualified human resources, JETRO is cooperating with Vietnamese universities to introduce to Japanese companies, he added.

He said that Japanese companies are very interested in Vietnam’s market and hopes that Vietnam will actively improve its business environment.
