2015 National Quality Award to take place in April

Apart from 77 businesses receiving the 2015 National Quality Award, 3 companies will be presented the Global Performance Excellence Award of the Asia-Pacific Quality Organisation at the ceremony to honour the 2015 National Quality Award, which will be held in April.

This information was heard by Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan at the ceremony to announce a series of events themed "20 years of the Vietnam National Quality Award 1996 -2016" in Hanoi on January 5.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Nguyen Quan said that an array of events will take place from January to April, including an announcement ceremony, conferences, a press gathering to announce the results of the 2015 National Quality Award and Global Performance Excellence Award of the Asia-Pacific Quality Organisation, a live programme and other media activities.
According to Minister Nguyen Quan, in the past 20 years, the  Vietnam National Quality Award has opened a new page for the productivity and quality movement in the country, contributing to improve the businesses' technical capicity in strengthening national economic integration with the economy of the region and the world.
The award aims to review, assess and bestow awards to businesses achieving excellent performances and outstanding achievements in innovating, improving quality and contributing to the country's productivity and quality movement.
Minister Quan stressed that the event is essential because productivity and quality are imperative for the survival of enterprises and the core issue of the Vietnamese economy.
During 20 years of implementation, the award has been paid attention by various businesses, management agencies as well as consumers.
It has also honoured enterpries having outstanding achievements in improving product quality and service, competitive capacity and performance.
A series of events themed "20 years of the Vietnam National Quality Award 1996 -2016" also highlights the award's prestige and position in the national awards system, the minister said.                                  
On the occasion, the ministry will also honour 20 excellent businesses for their positive contributions in enhancing the quality, contributing significantly to the national socio-economic development in the past 20 years.
The special ceremony to present the 2015 National Quality Award will be held in April and will be broadcasted live on the Vietnam Television.
