ProPak Vietnam 2017, a major annual processing and packaging technology exhibition, is being organsise at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) on Nguyen Van Linh street, District 7, HCM City, from March 21 -23.

The exhibition features technologies for food and pharmaceutical processing and packaging; bottling, beverage and canning; printing and labelling; food safety and hygiene; and others.
It has attracted more than 400 exhibitors from 28 countries and territories, including 11 international group pavilions from China, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Italy.
According to the organising board, this year’s exhibition would be over 40 percent larger than last year’s in terms of scale, a testament to the importance of the Vietnam market.
More than 72 Vietnamese firms, including distributors of international brands as well as representative offices, will participate. They include Altech, Bibus, Bosch Rexroth, Phu Loc Technologies, Song Song, Tam Duong, and Rieckermann Vietnam.
Besides, Propak Vietnam 2017 also drew the first participation of many potential enterprises such as Lohia, Huynh Long Industrial Equipment, Dai Chinh Quang Machinery Equipment, Teampack, Turatti, Woojin Plaimm, Keed Automatic Package Machinery.
Propak Vietnam 2017 recorded India's first-ever participation with 35 exhibitors.
Conferences and seminars will be held on the sidelines of the expo, including on water quality and management for food processing and on improving the quality of rice and rice-based products.
Tran Viet Dung, vice director of VCCI Exhibition Service, another organiser, said Vietnam’s packaging industry continues to expand, driven by growing demand from consumer products like food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and personal care items.
To keep up with the fast growing packaging industry, investing in flexible product designs and manufacturing systems becomes a strategic advantage, he added.
Mr. Hans Juergen Wichmann, General Director of Rickermann Vietnam, said that Propak Vietnam is one of the leading technology events in the packaging field. Rickermann Vietnam has been participating in Propak Vietnam for many years and has established trade relations with many partners from all over the world through the exhibitions, he added.
