A night of unity and renewal beneath Vietnam’s Party flag

Hanoi will stage a sweeping cultural spectacle to close the Communist Party’s 14th National Congress, blending history, reform and forward-looking ambition in a nationally televised celebration.

THE HANOI TIMES — A large-scale cultural program in Hanoi will mark the conclusion of the Party’s 14th National Congress, combining political messaging with a nationally televised artistic showcase to reinforce unity and confidence ahead of the next development phase.

The event, titled “Under the Glorious Flag of the Communist Party”, will be staged at My Dinh National Stadium at 8 PM on January 25, immediately following the congress’s closing session. It will be broadcast live on the state television channel VTV1 and streamed on digital platforms.

Being co-hosted by Hanoi and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the program is intended to communicate the key messages and strategic directions adopted at the congress, while fostering momentum to implement its resolutions across the party, the public and the armed forces.

The program will highlight Vietnam’s achievements over 40 years of Doi moi (Renewal), launched in 1986, while projecting aspirations for a stronger and more prosperous nation. Organizers said the event will also underscore Hanoi’s revolutionary and cultural legacy, emphasizing the capital’s role in the country’s next stage of development.

The 120-minute performance is expected to draw about 20,000 spectators and will combine large-scale artistic production with modern staging technology and synchronized performances. Built around the theme “New Vision - New Miracle - New Era,” the program is divided into three chapters.

The opening chapter, “Epic Under The Party Flag”, revisits Vietnam’s struggle for independence and national reunification through well-known revolutionary songs such as Muoi Chin Thang Tam (August 19), Nguoi La Ho Chi Minh (That Man is Ho Chi Minh) and Tien Ve Ha Noi (Marching Toward Hanoi), among others.

The second chapter, “With the Party, Complete Trust and Love”, focuses on the reform era and the country’s development achievements, featuring songs including Hanoi - Niem Tin Va Hy Vong (Hanoi - Faith and Hope) and Dang Da Cho Ta Mot Mua Xuan (The Party gave us a Spring) and others.

The final chapter, which shares the program’s title, looks ahead to Vietnam’s future with modern, large-scale performances such as Vuon Cao Viet Nam (Rising high Vietnam), Viet Nam Tu Hao Tiep Buoc Tuong Lai (Vietnam proudly stepping into the future).

The gorgeous art program brings together prominent artists alongside more than 6,000 performers, including actors, soldiers and members of the public and will conclude with a high-altitude fireworks display symbolizing unity, ambition and long-term development of Vietnam.
