A runway of Tan Son Nhat International airport temporarily closed for repair
According to a decision by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), runway 25R/07L of the Tan Son Nhat International Airport will be closed for repairs at two places spanning a total area of about 10 square metres damaged by lightning.
The temporary shutdown will begin at 0:01 am of July 16 and last until 23:59 pm of July 19.
The CAAV asked the Airports Corporation of Vietnam to enhance inspections and closely coordinate with the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation to ensure flight safety and aviation operations during the closure.
It also requested airlines adjust flight timetables and prepare adequate reserve fuel for planes required to circle the airport while waiting for landing space.
