Action Month of Work Safety and Sanitation to be deployed in Hanoi

The Hanoi Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has recently issued Document No. 1021/LDTBXH-VLATLD on implementing Action Month of Work Safety and Sanitation in 2018.

Accordingly, the Department requests city’s agencies, departments, sectors, unions, People’s Committees of districts, suburban districts and towns, and Hanoi Management Board of Industry, Processing and Export Zones to take following actions:
Conducting information work, popularizing the significance and purpose of the Action Month on Work Safety and Sanitation.

Hanging posters and banners, and distributing leaflets to people to popularize the rights, obligations and responsibilities of employers and employees for work safety and sanitation.
Expanding work safety and sanitation activities at all levels in the fields with/or without labor relations in the localities, production and trade facilities in occupational villages.
Conducting in-depth popularization and information work, focusing on the Law on Work Safety and Sanitation and documents guiding implementation of the law, as well as measures to prevent and control harmful, dangerous factors at work places (the popularization is conducted on mass media in the area).
Launching contests on Law on Work Safety and Sanitation; organizing workshops, conferences, seminars and dialogs on policy to improve quality and effectiveness of work safety and sanitation.
Organizing social activities which are integrated with the popularization of work safety and sanitation, such as visiting victims of work accidents, occupational diseases and their families, and organizing music performances and exchange activities featuring work safety and sanitation;
Establishing inter-disciplinary inspection missions to check work safety and sanitation in agencies, units and enterprises in the area, focusing on following issues: high-risk occupations like mining and construction material production; use of boilers in limited work space; implementation of legal regulations and policies on work safety and sanitation, as well as documents guiding implementation; training on work safety and sanitation; use and verification of machines, equipment and supplies which have strict requirements of work safety and sanitation in production and trade establishments.
The corporations, enterprises, production and business establishments perform following tasks:
Reviewing and supplementing regulations, process and technical measures to ensure work safety and sanitation, preventing and controlling fire and explosion in units and factories.
Conducting self-inspection, checking, reviewing and assessing risks in the field of work safety and sanitation, focusing on the machines, equipment, supplies and substances which have strict requirements of work safety and sanitation.
Preparing documents and organizing training on work safety and sanitation for each target group; providing guidance on process and safety skills to employees, and guiding them how to maintain safety at work.
Launching emulation movements and encouraging people to sign agreements on ensuring work safety and sanitation in factories, teams and groups.
Organizing contests to find initiatives to improve work conditions, reducing work accidents and diseases.
Praising individuals and collectives who have excellent performance in work safety and hygiene. 
Visiting victims of occupation diseases and accidents as well as their families.
​Organizing exchange activities and music performances which integrate work safety and sanitation.
