ANMC21 approved many important agreements

After two days of live discussions, the 12th Plenary Meeting of the Asian Network of Major Cities 21 (ANMC21) finished with a nice signing ceremony of the Hanoi Core Statement.

In particular, the Conference agreed to implement a new project "Building a foundation for technology and industry." To implement this project, the city will actively organize membership and expert meetings, research cooperation, economic relations, etc. with the subject of environment and energy saving.


 
Before that, in both policy dialogue sessions, the delegates attending the conference discussed and shared experiences to solve problems during construction and development, the content focused on two major urban planning and urban energy policies. In urban planning, a ANMC21 member suggested planning process implementation based on the distinctive characteristics of nature, culture and history... will identify solutions to build specific image for urban management, and mechanisms development to encourage and mobilize all resources invested to build the city planned in accordance with planning goals, resolve problems of urban existence, ensuring the development of civilization and sustainability. On the basis of finding a common voice in the planning and management, the city members agreed to further strengthen cooperation to share experiences in the field of planning and management in particular and social - economic development in general to address urban problems and ensure sustainable development and urban civilization.

For energy policy issues, in the context of the world are focused on the implementation to respond to climate change, the development of low-carbon economy, the meeting discussed and agreed on energy policy for sustainable urban development, needed to address the following issues: Developing high-quality human resources management, equipment market development, labeled energy products; electricity network synchronization with base infrastructure. On the basis of the orientation information, the member cities agreed to enhance cooperation to develop human resources and sharing information of each city, towards the goal of sustainable urban development and sustainable economic development of low-carbon.

Also at the 12th ANMC21, the member cities came together to look back and evaluate the implementation of joint projects of the whole network. In fact, the project has developed significant steps, entering the value and practical effectiveness. This reflects the meaning and value of joint activities and cooperation between cities in the network.

The exhibition on the sidelines of the conference include: Exhibition project link; On display in the member cities, children's painting exhibition entitled "Future City in 100 years", the booth contact of investment, trade and tourism; exchange activities outdoor performing arts also contribute to improving the understanding of the network level as well as the city ANMC21 members, bring new colors to the Conference.

12th Conference ANMC21 has successfully finished. Hanoi Joint Declaration was signed with the consensus of the participants. Thereby, ANMC21 not merely conduct pure exchange activities that have been and will be achieved many important achievements, promote the comprehensive development of economy, society, culture of the city as well as all members of the Asian region.

ANMC21 13th will be held at the Tomsk (Russia) in 2014 .
