Aviation growth propels Vietnam-Japan collaboration in high-tech manufacturing at HANSSIP
Partnerships with advanced economies, especially Japan, enable Vietnamese companies to access global technology, manufacturing standards and high-level training.
THE HANOI TIMES — Vietnam’s aviation market has grown over 10% annually, opening up vast opportunities for aircraft component manufacturing and supply chain partnerships between Japanese and Vietnamese enterprises, according to Onaga Masaru, Chairman of Japan’s Onaga Co Ltd, an aircraft components manufacturer in Vietnam.
He said that the company aims to expand cooperation with Vietnamese businesses to help them access technology, receive technical training and participate in the global production chain.

Onaga’s target is to manufacture components in Vietnam for export to international markets while supporting technology transfer and the development of a high-skilled workforce, he told the Vietnam-Japan Industrial Complex (Techno Park) survey program held on October 17 at the Hanoi Southern Supporting Industrial Park (HANSSIP).
The company’s aircraft parts factory, located in the HANSSIP, meets strict global safety and precision standards. Its products are already exported for use in the global aviation industry, demonstrating HANSSIP’s world-class production capabilities, said Onaga.
Nguyen Hoang, Chairman of the Hanoi Supporting Industries Business Association (HANSIBA) and N&G Group, said that Vietnamese enterprises have performed well to overcome challenges, localize production and become self-reliant, contributing to national development and security.
Partnerships with advanced economies, especially Japan, enable Vietnamese companies to access global technology, manufacturing standards and high-level training while expanding market connections and promoting sustainable, mutually beneficial growth, he added.
Hoang expressed confidence in the growing partnership between Vietnam and Japan’s high-tech and supporting industries, calling it a concrete result of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Initiative on industrial cooperation.

According to Hoang, infrastructures at HANSSIP are comprehensive and meet global supply chain standards. The park offers comprehensive services in healthcare, education, housing and cultural facilities for workers, engineers and experts, creating an enabling environment for international production cooperation, especially with Japan.
At HANSSIP, N&G Group, Onaga and HANSIBA have established the Vietnam-Japan Techno Park. Phase 1 is already operational, featuring a network of Vietnamese and Japanese factories.
Onaga’s first plant is producing trial components for the aerospace, high-speed rail, semiconductor, robotics, construction and advanced agricultural machinery sectors to international standards, with technical support from the US’ Boeing.
In the next phase, both sides plan to expand the Techno Park, offering factory spaces of 3,000-5,000 m² and land plots of 2-5 ha for medium-sized firms, while reserving 2% of the land for small and high-tech enterprises. The model is expected to expand nationwide.
Japanese Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam Ishikawa Isamu noted that the Politburo’s Resolution No. 68, issued in May 2025, identifies the private sector as a key economic driver and encourages stronger linkages between domestic and foreign-invested enterprises in industrial parks.
He reiterated Japan’s commitment to supporting Vietnam through enhanced supply chain cooperation, technology transfer, knowledge sharing and human resource training.
