Under the PM’s decision, between now and 2010, Vietnam will build mechanisms, policies and legal documents to create a legal framework for investment in developing bio-fuel and expanding its use.
Hanoi Times - The Prime Minister on November 20 gave the go ahead to a project to develop bio-fuel, a source of renewable and environmentally friendly energy, by 2015.
Under the PM’s decision, between now and 2010, Vietnam will build mechanisms, policies and legal documents to create a legal framework for investment in developing bio-fuel and expanding its use.
The country will map out a roadmap to partly use bio-fuel instead of fossil fuels as well as zone off regions to provide materials for bio-fuel production.
Pilot bio-fuel production models with capacities ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 tonnes per year will be developed in an attempt to replace 0.4 percent of the country’s petroleum demand.
