Capture patriotism in every photo with youthful pride

In celebration of the national milestone, Hanoi’s streets, hidden alleys, and cozy cafés are awash with flags and flowers, creating picture-perfect corners that have become magnetic spots for young people to check in and share their love for the city and the nation.

THE HANOI TIMES — Strolling through the streets of Hanoi these days, it's easy to spot bright red flags with yellow stars fluttering proudly in the breeze. The capital is alive with a heroic spirit in honor of the  50th anniversary of the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - 2025).

From early morning until late at night, especially on weekends, cafes decked out in patriotic colors welcome hundreds of visitors who are eager to take pictures and soak up the festive atmosphere.

Hong Trang, a resident of Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi takes time out of her weekend to visit the colorful alley of 3B Dang Thai Than in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.

"The 50th anniversary of the Reunification Day is a meaningful occasion so I want take pictures to celebrate the special occasion," she said.

Tan Tuyet, from Ba Dinh District, shared that in addition to capturing the vibrant scenes in the cafes, she visited historical landmarks throughout Hanoi. "Wearing a traditional ao dai with a red flag and conical hat, I wanted my photos to reflect both my patriotism and pride in this historical milestone."

This wave of patriotic creativity isn't limited to decorations; some cafes even offer themed treats, like cakes shaped like the red flag with a yellow star.

Sipping coffee in such a symbolic and visually striking space has become an unforgettable experience for many.

People naturally gravitate to commemorative photos amidst all this color and meaning.

The flag- and flower-filled settings will delight children as well as adults.

Families with young children seize the chance to create lasting memories next to the sacred symbol of their homeland, the bright red flag with a yellow star in the center.

In these emotionally charged days, as the nation looks back on five decades of unity and peace, many pause to breathe, admire the beauty of Hanoi, and celebrate this historic chapter.
