Chairman Chung hosted reception for newly-appointed French Ambassador
Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung recently hosted a reception for newly-appointed French Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Bertrand Lortholary.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung congratulated newly-appointed Ambassador and wished that Mr. Bertrand Lortholary, on his current position, will become a bridge to promote the cooperation between the two capitals as well as France and Vietnam. He expressed his hope that France will continue to support Hanoi to expand environmental observation project to find out solutions to improve air quality, clean water in the city.
Fos his part, Ambassador Bertrand Lortholary expressed his gratitude for Hanoi People’s Committee’s support in facilitating and promoting the French projects in Hanoi to be signed and effectively operated.
Recently, France has deployed many projects in Hanoi in the field of heritage conservation, urban planning and environmental observation. French Ambassador expects to promote cooperation with Hanoi in the fields of health, environment, urban transport.
France experts initiated a project to build the first metro line in Hanoi, linking Hanoi Railway Station with the western area of the city. Ambassador Bertrand Lortholary hopes that Hanoi leaders will continue to support and promote the deployment process as well as speeding up the land clearance for this construction.
