China-ASEAN Machinery Expo kicks off in Hanoi

The 2017 China-ASEAN Machinery Expo kicks off here on Thursday morning.

Focusing on mechanic and electronic products, the three-day exhibition enjoys the participation of 106 companies from China's 14 provinces and cities, including many reputable brands in the field, according to the organizers.
"Vietnam is now the largest trading partner of China in the ASEAN while China is the largest trading partner of Vietnam. Two-way trade hit 41.9 billion U.S. dollars in the first five months this year, up 16.3 percent year-on-year," China's Ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong said at the opening ceremony, adding that the expo will provide good opportunities for companies from both countries to communicate and cooperate.
Among Chinese partners, Vietnam reported the largest trade turnover with south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region In 2016, trade between Vietnam and Guangxi reached some 24 billion U.S. dollars, said Zhang Xiaoqin, vice governor of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Taking the expo as an important chance, Guangxi will further its cooperation with Vietnam, especially in trade and investment, the construction of cross-border economic zone, the improvement of connectivity among others, said Zhang.
The expo is of great significance to the trade exchange between Vietnam and China, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Trade Tran Quoc Khanh hailed during the expo, adding that the expo will push the friendly cooperation between the two countries to higher degree.
During the expo, purchasing talks will be made in the field of electronics, new energy, machinery and accessories, and a visit to Vietnamese industrial parks will also be launched.
