The direct flights aim to boost tourism, trading and investment links between China and Da Nang. Two third of the 24 direct international flights that operate in Da Nang is from China.
According to the latest report from the department, Da Nang has hosted 5.1 million tourists so far this year, 1.76 million of them foreigners. More than 280,000 Chinese tourists visited the city in the first half this year, mostly from Hangzhou, Chengdu, Shanghai and Beijing, as well as Kunming, Shenyang, and Dalian,
As the most attractive tourist city in Vietnam, Da Nang has welcomed more than 500,000 Chinese tourists in the past 10 months, surpassing last year’s total. According to Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Center for Tourism Promotion, APEC summits and President Xi Jinping’s visit to Vietnam could introduce the city to more Chinese citizens, that may help the city attain its target of 550,000 Chinese tourists in 2017. “Da Nang has received more than two million overseas tourists, and more than a quarter of them are Chinese, who patronize our hotels, restaurants, and tourist spots,” Nguyen said.
Last month, the mobile app “DANANG-FantastiCity” was launched, and its Chinese version aims to help Chinese tourists know the city better. Last month, China inaugurated its Consulate General’s office in Da Nang. Investment and trade links between Da Nang and Chinese businesses and agencies have developed strongly over the last few years.
