Just a one-hour flight south of Hanoi, Da Nang -- often spelled Da Nang, as well -- offers easy access to the UNESCO-listed Hoi An Ancient Town, addictive banh mi and some of the best beaches in Vietnam.
The InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort, Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An, Fusion Maia, Naman Retreat are among Da Nang’s best hotels on the beach, Kate Springer wrote in an article published on the US news television CNN website.
The writer named The InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort the number one place among the best hotels on the beach across this resort city in central Vietnam. “Set in the midst of the Son Tra Peninsula Nature Reserve, northeast of the city, the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is one of the most exclusive properties in the region,” CNN wrote.
Wildlife and all, this is the kind of hotel that's hard to leave. There's haute French cuisine from acclaimed chef Pierre Gagnaire at La Maison 1888, early morning tai chi sessions, guided forest walks and an inviting infinity pool.
Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An take the second place on the list. According to CNN, the Four Seasons property ensures relaxation with thoughtful touches, from tea and refreshing hand towels upon arrival to open-air terraces and 86 acres of tropical gardens.
For explorers of all ages, the hotel organizes custom excursions, such as a trip to nearby Phuoc Hai village where you can fish with local residents and learn to paddle around in a traditional Vietnamese bamboo basket boat.
The number of visitors to Da Nang during the Tet holiday (Lunar New Year) from February 2 to 10 is estimated at 328,810, a year-on-year increase of 10.7%, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.
Of the total visitor, 158,328 were foreigners, up 19.9% compared to the same period last year. The increase of holidaymakers to Da Nang is also attributed to the recent operation of international air routes from Incheon, Busan and Daegu of South Korea to Da Nang, Osaka (Japan) - Da Nang, Bangkok (Thailand) - Da Nang, and Doha (Qatar) - Da Nang.
