By 2020, Coca-Cola plans to open a fifth plant in Ho Chi Minh City.

Coca-Cola is looking for a location in Hanoi for a plant worth US$300 million, which would be the soft drinks group's fourth in Vietnam, according to Calin Dragan, president of Coca-Cola's Bottling Investment Group.

By 2020, Coca-Cola plans to open a fifth in Ho Chi Minh City, Dragan said in a meeting with Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on October 26.

Coca-Cola is recognized by the General Department of Taxation as among the Top 100 enterprises contributing the most tax sum, Dragan stated.

The PM highly regarded Coca-Cola positive business performance in Vietnam, which has created thousands of jobs for locals and using domestic inputs. In addition to tax payment, Coca-Cola has contributed to delivering sustainable and inclusive growth for Vietnamese citizens, Phuc said.

According to Phuc, the government always gives priority to creating favorable conditions for investors.

In an interview with Hanoitimes, CEO of Coca-Cola Vietnam Sanket Ray informed that Coca-Cola's plants in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hanoi provide 4,000 direct jobs and 6-10 times more than that in indirect jobs.

"Coca-Cola Vietnam has firmly established its position as a key and trusted partner of Vietnam in achieving its vision of becoming a highly integrated and competitive country," Ray continued.

"Since 2010, it has invested millions of dollars in community initiatives in Vietnam, including the building of EKOCENTERs, projects that provide access to clean water, and programs for 65,000 underprivileged people in seven cities and provinces around the country," he added.
