Commencing construction of new terminal in Da Nang airport

The Ministry of Transport and the central city of Danang city held a groundbreaking ceremony to commence the construction of a new terminal at the Da Nang International Airport on November 15.

The project has a total investment of 3,500 billion VND and consists of three main components: an international passenger terminal, an overpass in front of the terminal and a parking area.

According to Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Nhat, the construction is set to finish after 16 months and the new facilities will open ahead the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum’s meetings in 2017 in the Da Nang city.  The project is expected to be put into trial operation in March, 2017.
The 48,000 sq.m terminal has a design capacity from 4 to 6 million passengers each year and provides parking space for over 400 automobiles. 
The Da Nang Airport is the third largest international airports in Vietnam after the Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat International Airports and an important gateway to central Vietnam.
