Commencing the construction of “Silicon Valley” project in HCM City
The Silicon Saigon Park JSC held a groundbreaking ceremony of the "Saigon Silicon City" project in the Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) on November 10.

The project follows the model of the US's Silicon Valley, where is located by many of the world's biggest high-tech corporations and technology start-up companies.
"Saigon Silicon City" will be spread over 52 hectares in the Saigon Hi-Tech Park.
The project has an investment capital of about 860 billion VND (40 million USD) poured by Overseas Vietnamese investors from the US’s Silicon Valley. It aims to build a high-tech park in Vietnam, calling for investment, development and exchange on high technology between Vietnam and the advanced countries, especially the United States.
The Saigon Silicon City is expected to attract around 1.5 billion USD in investments from 20 investors in high-tech area and support industry from 2015 to 2020.
The project will be divided into 2 phases, in which the construction and completion of general infrastructure of the Silicon Saigon Park will be implemented in the phase 1. In the phase 2, the project will be built the other items in accordance with the approved plan.
Upon the completion, Saigon Silicon City will become a smart city, which is availabe to ensure favourable infrastructure and facilities to attract domestic and foreign enterprises operating in the high technology sector.
Chairman of the Silicon Saigon Park Nguyen Minh Hieu stressed that the project will become an international-standard smart urban area to attract overseas Vietnamese and foreign enterprises with investments in the high-tech area.
