Congratulatory messages cabled to Party leader

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong continues to receive congratulatory sent by leaders of foreign countries on his re-election as Vietnam’s Party chief.

Congratulations were offered by First Secretary of the Workers’ Party of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Kim Jong-un, Chair of the Japanese Communist Party Central Committee Kazuo Shii and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Secretary-General of the People's Action Party of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, and Chairman of the “Communists of Russia” Party Maxim Suraykin also sent congratulatory messages to the Vietnamese Party leader, among others. 

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was re-elected at the 12 th National Party Congress, which took place from January 20-28.
