After the four-day trial operation period, the terminal is projected to serve the first flight on May 8. All flights will be transferred to the new facility between May 9 and 15.
The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam has joined hands with the Ministries of Transport and Construction to complete procedures for the new terminal’s operation.
As one of key infrastructure projects in Da Nang, the construction of the international terminal at Da Nang airport began in November 2015 with a total investment of over 3.5 trillion VND (154 million USD).
Upon its completion, the airport will be able to receive six million passengers per year and serve 1,600 passengers in peak hours.
The Da Nang Airport is the third largest international airport in Vietnam after the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi in northern Vietnam and Tan Son Nhat in the southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City. It is an important gateway to the central region.
