Foreign visitors to Da Nang city were from South Korea, Japan and China. They came to the city via direct flights. Da Nang is the most favourite destination for travellers in Vietnam during the national holidays, according to the online booking agent Agoda.com
Especially, the annual Da Nang International Fireworks Festival was considered the determining factor of tourists’ choice to visit this beautiful central coast city. In addition, a wide range of activities were held on the occasion, including Da Nang sea tourism programme, street music and street festival.
Da Nang launched the tourist season in 2018 on April 27 at the Bien Dong Park in the city’s Son Tra peninsula with a programme of more than 20 activities, aiming to lure and entertain visitors to the coastal city.
Da Nang is a popular tourist destination of Vietnam. The online marketplace and hospitality service Airbnb announced a list of the world’s top 10 destinations for the 208, in which Da Nang ranked fifth in booking surges of up to 255%.
The city, which hosted the APEC Economic Leaders Week last November, attracted nearly 2.3 million foreign tourists in 2017, up 37% compared to a year ago. 2017 is considered to have been a successful year for the tourism sector in Da Nang, according to the City’s Tourism Department.
Da Nang hopes to welcome nine million visitors by 2020, with 30% being international holidaymakers, and rake in VND31.5 trillion (US$1.38 billion) in revenue.
