Director of VietArt Media Company, Le Nguyen Phuong Thao, said the competition, which made its debut in 2008, will be held over five nights: three for fireworks and two as aquatic music nights.
Thao said the 2015 competition will be organised at a total cost of VND36.2 billion (US$1.7 million).
The city's Foreign Affairs Department said two consultancy companies – Global 2000 from Malaysia and Simmetrico Network of Italy – have registered to participate in the event next year.
Simmetrico Network also proposed to build a fireworks launching place in the middle of the Han River and for larger installation of stands on the two river banks.

Last year, Melrose Pyrotechnics of the US won first prize.
In previous competitions, Canada's Davis Whysall won first prize in 2008, while China's Liuyang Dancing team took the title in 2009. France's Jacques Couturier Organisation clinched first prize in 2010, and Italy's Parente won twice in 2011-12.
