Deputy Prime Minister asks for traffic safety in post-Tet

Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai has asked relevant agencies to ensure traffic safety for passengers who will return the city after the nine-day Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

The official made the appeal while inspecting the Hanoi Railway Station, the My Dinh Bus Station and Noi Bai International Airport.

He hailed transportation companies and the municipal People’s Committee for making it easier for family reunions during the traditional festival.

As a national transportation centre, Hanoi should work to ensure smooth and safe traffic for road users, Hai said.

The official called for the involvement of the entire political system to improve transportation quality and the sector’s attitudes towards passengers.
During his inspection tour of Noi Bai International Airport, he praised the efforts of the airport, which is among top ten airports in Asia, serving about 50 million passengers a year.

As airports play an important role in transportation and in promoting images of a country to international friends, Noi Bai should pay more attention to personnel training and service quality, he stressed.
