In the last day of the working trip in Thailand (from August 17-23), the delegation of Economic & Urban Newspaper has had a meeting with the Editorial Board of Thansettakij Newspaper in Bangkok.
Attending the meeting were the Chairman of Thai News Ubolnadda Supawan and the Chairman of Chiang Mai Journalism Association Amnat Jong.
At the meeting, the two sides have shared experience on journalism in the context of tough global economic environment, as well as the impact of technologies and social network. As one of the most prominent economic newspaper in Thailand, Thansettakij Newspaper has been conducting measures toward sustainable development. Editor in Chief Thikamporn Srijun said, Thansettakij Newspaper has been in operation for nearly 30 years, and currently is member of Spring Group Media Corporation. The newspaper publishes twice per week nationwide with more than 20,000 copies per edition. At present, printed newspapers are fiercely contested by the competition from other modern media, Thansettakij Newspaper has significantly transformed to survive and develop. As such, the newspaper has turned into the model of multimedia consisting of the printed version, online version, on television and radio.
In term of the content, the newspaper plays to its strength and attract readers by giving readers a deep insight into many aspects of economic life. In particular, in design and presentation, the newspaper has shown significant progress through the using of infographic, summarizing the content of best articles in the front page. “It is the solution to meet the readers’ demand, especially the young reader with little time for reading. If readers want to read more they can look into the next pages” – Mr. Thikamporn Srijun said.
Besides, Thansettakij also cooperates with enterprises to jointly organize events, conferences and workshops. At the meeting, The Vice Editor in Chief of Economic & Urban Newspaper Lai Ba Ha shared with the Thansettakij counterparts about the operation of the Economic & Urban Newspaper. Mr. Ha suggested the two newspapers to closely cooperate and exchange information in the coming time, especially on economic activities and investment promotion, in turn meeting the demand of two countries’ readers.
During the working trip, the delegation has paid a visit to Sring News television channel under Spring Group Media Corporation. Before that, the delegation has met with leaders of Thailand Journalism Association. The Chairman of Thailand Journalism Association Pramed Lekpetch expressed his delight in welcoming the delegation of Economic & Urban Newspaper. Mr. Lekpetch looked forward to continue cooperating and exchanging experience between two sides, especially in supporting reporters to be more efficient in working.
The delegation also has meeting with representatives in South East Asia of SCG Corporation and CPF company under CP Corporation. These are both leading enterprises in Thailand, which are expanding their networks to many countries in Asia, including Vietnam. In particular, SCG Corporation has announced the Long Son Petrochemical Complex project cooperating with Petro Vietnam in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.
Before that, the delegation has worked with the board of directors of Nong Nooch Garden and Resort – one of the top 10 theme parks in the world, which receives approx. 2.5 million foreign tourists every year.
