DPM directs rehearsal for 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory

Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam, head of the National organization board for celebration of the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory attended the rehearsal of main activities for the event on May 5.

The Deputy PM examined the incense-offering ceremony for revolutionary martyrs at the martyrs' cemetery located on hill A1, where 644 soldiers and officers in the Dien Bien Phu campaign were laid to rest in peace.

 

 

 

According to the organizing board, the incense-offering ceremony will be held on May 7th at Hill A1 in Dien Bien Phu City, followed by meetings and marches with the participation of 15,000 people.

 

 

 

A special art performance entitled “Dien Bien Phu- a forever heroic song” will be held in the afternoon the same day.

Around 2,500 military officers and soldiers are preparing for the upcoming parade to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the country’s victory over French forces.

 

 

Deputy PM Dam highly valued efforts of the forces and people involved in organizing the event.

Mr. Dam and other members of the organizing board gave specific comments on the celebrations.

According to the organizing board, an incense-offering ceremony will be held on May 7th at A1 Hill in Dien Bien Phu City, followed by meetings and marches with the participation of 15,000 people.

Earlier, on May 6th, an art performance entitled “Dien Bien Phu- a forever heroic song” will open in the City, and finally a firework display at the city’s central square will wrap up the celebrations.
