Each Vietnamese citizen to be a Tourism Ambassador

The first overall investigation of accommodation locations is not to "find mistakes" but to change perceptions and thinking of travel businessman, toward each citizen is an ambassador of Vietnam tourism, accordingn to Deputy General Director of Tourism Ha Van Sieu.

The first overall investigation and review of 3-5 star hotels in Da Nang, Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan taken place from 5 September to 7 September has finished. The Deputy General Director of Tourism, Mr. Ha Van Sieu said that this activity is not to "find mistakes" of accommodation locations but to change perceptions and thinking of travel businessman, toward each citizen is an ambassador of Vietnam tourism.
A breakthrough for lodging to make
Recently, the system of tourist lodging in our country is constantly growing in both quality and quantity. The period of 2010 - 2015, the number of luxury 3-5 star hotels doubled, helped improve tourism competitiveness and attractiveness.
Nevertheless, many lodging facilities under the commercialization of lower costs, lower labor costs, combined with weak governance seasonally without quality resistance. As a result, fast deterioration of material and technical foundation, lack of hygiene and safety, the lack of professional personnel, service attitude unfriendliness, etc.
These caused significant impacts to the competitiveness and image of tourism.
According to experts, the breakthrough option of lodging to change the appearance of Vietnamese tourism guided by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien is correct and feasible.

To implementation of this policy, the General Department of Tourism launched a campaign of overall investigation and reviews to all accommodation establishments in Da Nang, Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa and Binh Thuan.
This activity particularly focused on the segment of tourist accommodation establishments ranked 3-5 stars aimed at creating a fundamental change in perception and action, especially for their leaders of accommodation establishments; raise awareness for tourism staff, primarily in accommodation facilities, then affect throughout the "service supplier community". The last big goal is towards every citizen are ambassadors of Vietnam tourism.
Human factor be the priority
Mr. Sieu, leading the inspection of 3-5 star hotels in Da Nang and Quang Nam from 5 September to 6 September, said that the Department checked 10 hotels including seven 3-star hotels, two 4-star hotels and one 5-star hotel. Most of the hotels in Da Nang offered good quality service, location, work force and service attitude.
However, some 3-star hotels offered limited facilities. The investigation board warned five 3-star hotels in Da Nang, given a period of 3 months to settle and improve their service quality, facilities and other shortcomings. In case that after 3 months finding no change, the General Department will revoke the star ranking. We can say, this is the "control step" of quality, ensure the stability of the service level, which promises efficiency and brand for the tourism sector.
Well-experienced CEO of Hanoi Daewoo Hotel, Mr. Erwin R. Popov said that a hotel was one of the first stops of travelers to Vietnam and a place to make them impress. The system of 3-5 star hotels in Vietnam has many advantages to develop and bring a good feeling for the "gods". That is young enthusiastic and friendly staff, local diversified cuisine, etc.
To improve the quality of accommodation services, creating an effective breakthrough, Mr. Popov said that the hotel should realize its important role through infrastructure investment and service quality boosting. Besides, the human factor must always be placed as the priority.
"As one of the leading 5-star hotel in the capital, since 1996, Hanoi Daewoo sent senior delegation to Korea for professional training. Undergone 20 years of development, Hanoi Daewoo always encourages staff to improve their professional qualifications, language and welcoming attitude to customers.
Accordingly, every staff in our hotel is an ambassador for Vietnamese tourism. Since then, Hanoi Daewoo continuously improves service quality and facilities to give customers the 5-star experience ", Mr. Popov told.
