eBay hits Vietnam

The Hanoi Times - Vietnamese individuals and businesses are now able to put their goods up for auction o­n U.S. popular e-commerce site eBay via its Vietnamese website www.ebay.vn, according to eBay’s Vietnamese partner.

PeaceSoft Solutions Corporation told Tuoi Tre newspaper the website would act as a gateway to granting Vietnamese businesses better access to international customers.

The company, owner of Vietnamese-language o­nline trading site Chodientu.vn, partnered with the U.S. o­nline auction giant in June 2008.

In 2007, eBay officially entered Vietnam with the launch of its Vietnamese website.

In April this year, the two partners launched a new o­nline auction and selling site, at and , which allows customers to buy and pay for products in Vietnam.

Shoppers can deposit money into their eBay accounts at local banks, including Vietcombank, DongA Commercial Bank, Techcombank and Vietnam International Bank.
