EROPA conference held in Hanoi

The plenary session of the Eastern Regional Organization for Public Administration (EROPA) conference opened in Hanoi on October 20.

This year's theme is “Public Administration and Governance in the Context of Regional and Global Integration”.

Participants shared experience in Government’s transparency and accountability related to digitalisation system in Japan, the private sector’s involvement in climate change mitigation and response in the Philippines and public administration and governance in the era of regional and global integration and challenges and solutions for Vietnam.

Professor Koichiro Agata from the Japan International Institute of Administrative Sciences said e-Government should open to all citizens and enterprises to ensure trust, efficiency, transparency and justice.

According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs, Vietnam has made great efforts to apply information technology in State governance.

EROPA is the first organization in the Asia-Pacific region which has been formed with the aim of developing a public administration and promoting socio-economic development in the region. It now has 10 members at the state level and 50 members that are institutes, public administration academies and universities, and 229 individual members.
