The Prime Minister has decided to set up a national committee to coordinate the organisation of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum hosted by Vietnam in 2017.
The APEC's committee is led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh. Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Cam Tu are assigned to be the committee’s vice directors.
The committee consists of five sub-committees in charge of content, logistics, health and safety, communications and protocol.
Hosting the APEC forum in 2017 is a lynchpin in Vietnam’s foreign policy until 2020, reflecting the country’s dedication to the promotion of shared interests in APEC in an evolving regional landscape.
