Exciting tourism offers for Hung Kings Commemoration Day

Visitors will have the chance to experience the sacred ancestral land of Phu Tho during the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day, which will take place on the 10th day of the third lunar month, or April 7, 2025.

The Hanoi Times — The Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day and “Phu Tho Culture Tourism Week 2025” will be held from March 29 to April 7 in Viet Tri City and the Hung Temple Historical Site in the northern province of Phu Tho.

The event, which will feature a variety of cultural activities, is expected to be ideal for exploring the region's rich history and scenic beauty.

A series of tours with attractive promotions invite visitors to explore the famous Hung Temple, Long Coc Tea Hill, Xuan Son National Park, and Hung Lo Community Tourism Area, among other local scenic spots. Discounts from 20% to 50% are available on accommodation and meals at places like Long Coc Homestay, Saigon - Phu Tho Hotel, Muong Thanh Phu Tho Hotel, and others.

In addition, tourists can take part in free activities such as tea picking, rice noodle making, banh chung (square sticky rice cakes) wrapping, banh day (round sticky rice cakes) pounding, and enjoy traditional performances such as xoan, cheo (Vietnamese operetta) singing.

Tourists can choose from several tour options, including a one-day trip to visit Hung Temple, Hung Lo Communal House, and Hung Lo Ancient Village, or a two-day and one-night excursion to Long Coc and the Wyndham Lynn Times Thanh Thuy Hot Spring Complex. For those seeking a longer experience, a five-day tour from Hanoi to Phu Tho, Yen Bai, and Lao Cai is also available.

Local service providers have pledged to maintain high-quality services during the festival to ensure enjoyable experiences for visitors. The Phu Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will supervise the event and handle any feedback from tourists.

Earlier, the Phu Tho People's Committee announced a cultural program to celebrate the Hung Kings Commemoration Day in 2025.

This year's death anniversary of the Hung Kings is divided into two parts: the worship rituals and the celebration.

Worship rituals include a ceremony commemorating Great Father Lac Long Quan and Great Mother Au Co to be held at the Hung Kings Temple National Historic Site on April 3. Meanwhile, the Hung Kings Incense and Flower Offering Ceremony will be held at the relief “Uncle Ho Talks with Officials and Soldiers” at the Hung Kings Temple National Historic Site in Phong Chau Commune, Viet Tri City on April 7.

In addition, incense offering ceremonies to commemorate the Hung Kings will be held in different localities in Phu Tho Province from March 29 to April 2.

The celebration, part of the “Phu Tho Culture Tourism Week 2025” event, will feature 22 cultural activities to promote the tourism potential of Phu Tho Province, including the art program entitled “Sacred Origin - Hung King’s Ancestral Land”, which will be staged on the evening of the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month or April 7.

Located in Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province, about 80 km from the center of Hanoi, the Hung Kings Temple National Historic Site is a famous tourist attraction.
