Exhibition of sculpture painting “Portrait” will feature about 40 artworks by G39 Hanoi artists
The program officially kicks off on Dec 8th at Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center (50 Dao Duy Tu Street, Hanoi). During the opening ceremony, artists will create artworks to present to visitors.
With the mix of varied materials (oil-color, powder color, acrylic…), each artist has his/her own way to express the respective “portrait”.
Building the portrait paintings via pottery pieces carved around composit frame, artist Le Thiet Cuong wants to highlight the multi-face, complexity inside everyone. Meanwhile, painter Tao Linh brings his character in the static conservation of color and shape.
For artist Phuong Binh’s part, via her work, she wants to praise the body curves of women; at the same time, shape and build their complex, disturbed and instable mind.
“However, we meet each other at the same thinking: the portrait must draw out the characters’ nature and spirit. The portrating isn’t merely about paint meticulously, specifically to reappear the characters’ look”, representative of G39 Hanoi said.
After the program in Hanoi, exhibition of sculpture painting “Portrait” will continue to roll to Hoi An in Dec 19.
In advance, the artirst team launched many exhibitons relating to Vietnam Lunar New Year's meaning. One of the most outstanding ones is rooster-themed exhibition on January to celebrate Lunar New Year 2017 - Year of the Rooster. Apart from oil-on-canvas, lacquer, ink, paper and silk paintings, the exhibition also features pottery products with lively rooster decoration patterns.
