Experiencing farmstay in Dong Nai

Cat Tien Jungle Lodge is where travelers can join in the two-day-one-night tour departing from HCMC to check out the first farmstay in Dong Nai Province.

Cat Tien Jungle Lodge covers an area of 7,000 square meters and is surrounded by a spacious area of cashew, grapefruit and rambutan trees and a small vegetable plot. The venue is less than a kilometer walk to Cat Tien National Park.

Especially, tourists to the lodge can relax in a quiet yet romantic scene of river backyard and a big spacious garden where many birds, insects, and small vertebrates come regularly. There is a family of six squirrels that forage at the farm’s area from time to time.

The lodge has rooms and facilities built from old wooden homes that once housed local families except for some modern comforts that have been later installed. There are two wooden bungalows which can accommodate between five and eight people each plus a two-storey woodhouse with eight separate rooms that is good for 16 persons on a twin sharing basis.

There are a couple of smaller rooms which can accommodate single travelers with common bath facilities. All rooms are simple and clean using mainly local materials. This is to preserve a natural setting and to allow guests to experience rural Vietnamese living. All the rooms have fans but no air conditioners. Other facilities are electricity, wifi, hot water, nice sitting toilets, and open-air bathrooms.

Tourists to the location can choose from various interesting activities like biking in the countryside, visiting a small local market about 400 meters away from the lodge and joining local villagers to harvest fruits, corn, pepper, coffee or rice when in season. People can also see piglets being born or help bath the local water buffalos in the evening. Adventure tours to Cat Tien National Park are also recommended.

After entertainment time, guests will enjoy meals at Cat Tien Jungle Lodge’s Happy Belly Restaurant or chill out at its DMZ Café & Bar.
