Meanwhile, the visitors were welcomed to the VIP room of the theatre, learning about traces of bullet shots from December 1946, as well as important events which took place at the Cach Mang Thang Tam (August Revolution) Square from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present.
On the third floor, the travelers also have a chance to learn more about the building materials and theater decorations from the early twentieth century, the restoration process of the theater in 1995, documents, ancient photos on the theater and events which took place both inside and outside the theatre.
After experiencing the historical architectural value of the Hanoi Opera House, visitors will be able to enjoy an art performance. The Hanoi Opera House is open to visitors at 10.30am on every Monday and Friday. From October 2017 the theatre will increase their reception. Duration of the visit is 1 hour 30 minutes, the fare is VND400,000.
The tours are expected to implement the policy of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on exploiting the Hanoi Opera House as a place to perform quality art works, preserve traditional art and build academic art works.

The Hanoi Opera House is located near Hoan Kiem Lake on August Revolution Square. Following the end of the August Revolution in 1945, The Hanoi Opera House reverted from entertaining the French elite to becoming the centre of major historical events including the first session of the National Assembly of the Republic. The Hanoi building went into a state of decline prior to being renovated and brought up to date in 1997 which included the installation of state-of-the-art equipment and the renewal of some of the interior decorations. These improvements returned the opera house to its former glory
Nowadays, Hanoi Opera House is one of Hanoi’s cultural centres where art shows, concerts, dance performances and other events usually take place, with the scale ranging from national to international. Hanoi Opera House was modelled on the Palais Garnier, the older of Paris’s two opera houses, and is considered to be one of the architectural landmarks of Hanoi. After the departure of the French, the opera house became the scene for several political events, Vietnamese plays and musicals.
