Exploring first astronomy park in Southeast Asia

The first Southeast Asian astronomy park located in Hanoi is almost completed after five years of construction.

Located in Duong Noi urban area in Ha Dong District, Hanoi, Astronomy Park is a public project for outer space lovers.

The Astronomy Park in Hanoi was designed and constructed by Malaysia-based EGO Group. As its concept design is based on the idea of simulating the process of shaping the universe billions of years ago, the park reproduces the Big Bang and the formation of planets in the solar system.
The construction of the first outdoor astronomy park in Southeast Asia started on July 4, 2017.
The park area is 120.000 sqm, of which 6.000 sqm is the water surface area of the Bach Hop Thuy Lake.

Big Bang Square is the visual highlight of the astronomical park. It simulates the Big Bang that shapes stars, planets, galaxies, etc.
The park also takes visitors on a journey through the Milky Way and nine highlights of astronomy, all told through the language of landscape architecture.
Simulation models of the Earth, Sun and stars, the park helps visitors, especially the children to get acquainted with some basic knowledge about astronomy.
Currently, the park remains under construction.

The park was expected to welcome guests at the end of the first quarter of 2020. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the project construction time takes longer than planned. Photo: Trieu Chien & Nam Le
