More than 800 dignitaries and followers participated in a massive festival to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Cao Dai religion in Hanoi on October 12.

Deputy Head of the Government’s Committee for Religious Affairs Duong Ngoc Tan said the Vietnamese Party and State acknowledge and appreciate the sect’s remarkable contributions to national construction and defence.
The church has encouraged its dignitaries and followers to implement economic development programmes at local levels while promoting solidarity in religious practices in accordance with the law.
It raises tens of billions of VND annually for social charitable activities and poverty reduction efforts.
The sect has also established international relations with other religious organisations across the world and embraced links with Cao Dai societies abroad.
On the occasion, President Truong Tan Sang sent a bouquet of flowers to congratulate Cao Dai dignitaries and followers.
Cao Dai is one of the major religions in Vietnam with over 2 million followers, 10,000 dignitaries and 1,000 places of worship.
