Five Vietnamese destinations have been listed among 19 places in Southeast Asia that will “actually change your life” by the US’ Huffington Post newspaper.

Phu Quoc Island in southern Kien Giang province, with its “mostly empty perfect beaches” is ranked second in the list. Meanwhile, Mui Ne sand dunes in central BinhThuan province, which are described as belonging on another continent though they are not far from Ho Chi Minh City, are in the fourth place.

The Mekong Delta, which is the largest rice bowl of Vietnam, is in the eighth place with lots of tiny villages and floating markets to visit. Sa Pa town in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai comes immediately after it, in the ninth position, for its green rice terraced fields and French colonial villas.
