Foreign tourists to Vietnam rise 17.8% in 4 months

According to the General Statistics Office, foreign visitors to Vietnam over the recent four months of 2016 recorded 3,248,600, rising 17.8%.

 


 
As many as 789,500 foreigners travelling to Viet Nam in April, down 3.8% against the previous month and up 11.9% compared to the same period last year.

There was a sharp increase in the number of tourists from such markets as Hong Kong up 143.3%, China up  47%, the Republic of Korea up 30.2%, Thailand up 29.6%, Italia up 29.2%, Sweden up 27.1%, the UK up 23% and Spain up 21.4%. The total revenue from tourism reached VND135,796 billion, up 19.6%.
