On March 28, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam hosted reception for Cambodian Minister of Industry and Handicrafts Cham Prasidh and hailed the developments in Viet Nam-Cambodia relations.
In terms of industry, investment and trade, Vietnamese businesses poured US$2.85 billion in 182 projects in Cambodia. Viet Nam has become the third largest trade partner of Cambodia with the annual average growth of 18.5% in the 2010-2015 phase. The two-way trade turnover in 2015 reached US$3.4 billion.
The Deputy PM proposed the Cambodian Ministry of Industry and Handicrafts and Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade actively launch cooperative measures and support their businesses in such areas as industry and investment.
In the context of intensive international integration, especially the establishment of the ASEAN Community at the end of 2015, Deputy PM Dam asked the two nation to further cooperate in production and commodity supply for not only the two sides’ markets but also heading to the other market.
Briefing on the talks between him and Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang, Minister Cham Prasidh revealed that the two ministries are seeking measures to support their enterprises.
Remarkably, he suggested the Vietnamese businesses share effective experience in production and exports in small and medium sizes, including garments. He expected that the two countries will boost delegation exchanges at all levels and enhance economic cooperation in all fields.
